Our Message to You About Coronavirus

Hello TheraPeeds Family,

Those of you who know us, knows that our three operating values at TheraPeeds are Service, Compassion and Change. You also know that these aren’t ‘just words’, but that we live by them. In the face of this current world pandemic of Coronavirus, the only way we get through it is to hold onto our values and live them.

1. SERVICE
We understand the tremendous effort and sacrifice our families make to come to TheraPeeds for intervention. We do not take that lightly and for that reason, we will continue to provide services to our clients, once you can get to us and our doors are open. As of now, we have no indication that our services will be suspended. In addition, to embrace the value of service, we are focused on serving by keeping the safety of our clients and staff as a priority. We know how important cleanliness is during these times. To offer you peace of mind, we have increased our cleaning services nightly and have been vigilant during the day, hiring additional support, to clean surfaces such as the reception areas, door knobs, mats and surfaces. We are applying disinfectant that is effective against Coronavirus.

Our building is equipped with high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters. All recirculated air is passed through these filters before re-entering the building or being mixed with fresh air. As always, we have an abundance in availability of sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizers that our staff continues to use throughout the day as they have always been trained to do.

We are also continuing to follow the procedures of restricting staff and client entrance to the building:

  • Any staff that shows symptoms cannot return to work without a doctor’s note and clearance to return to work.
  • Clients are asked to not come into the center if they show any symptoms associated with COVID-19. They must follow the recommendations of the CDC and contact a health care provider immediately. Please also contact your client care liaison and keep them informed of your progress and they must provide a doctor’s note to return to therapy.
  1. COMPASSION
Just hearing the words ‘pandemic’ and ‘crisis’ is enough to send anyone crazy! We get that. We also recognize that many families are being affected by travel restrictions and changing regulations between states and countries. Some of you are concerned about ending the intensive - can I get home? Some of you about your upcoming intensive - can I get there? Can I get back home? Will I get stuck?

We plan to continue to be here for YOU and your family. We respect the decision that you need to make, and we are here to offer support in any way that we can. Please communicate with your client care team members directly if you are here, via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and via phone. We have additional team members available to speak to you. Please communicate with us, so that we can hear your specific circumstances and RESPOND.

    3. CHANGE
Change is what we are all about at TheraPeeds and for change to be positive, it has to be based on responding to what is happening in the moment. RESPOND-siveness can only be done well, if we all stay out of REACTION.

In the face of change and uncertainty, which we are sharing right now, we are all prone to react. We’re all navigating the narrow line between sensible caution and panic. Later we’ll know, but right now everything is up in the air and there are many question marks looming over our heads and every decision.

So, what do we do? PAUSE and get information. Uncertainty is a challenge, but the bigger challenge comes with the consequence of making impulsive, misinformed decisions. Gather information by visiting the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)or World Health Organization (WHO)websites regularly. Get your news from established news organizations rather than off social media.

We are contacting government embassies to get information about travel restrictions in the countries for our clients that are here and potentially will be coming. We are investigating school boards for up-to-date information on school closures. We are focused on staying informed to respond in the moment.

In terms of my travel schedule for speaking and upcoming events, we are again staying informed and handling one event at a time. Like you, we are waiting to make major decisions for possible postponement of these events, knowing we’ll have a lot more information as it evolves. We will keep you posted about our plans.

In the meantime, we are focused on staying true to our commitment to serve you with compassion through this time of change. Stay clear, stay informed, stay responsive. We cannot do anything about the past, or what might happen, but we can always DO something now, even if that something is to PAUSE.

    With much love and respect,
    Julia
